University of Oregon’s Tanguy Pepiot Celebrates Too Early And Loses Race

In one of the most agonizing losses ever seen on camera, University of Oregon’s Tanguy Pepiot celebrated way too early and lost the race. As many have learned over the years — from watching sports clips or experiencing a similar situation — the game is not over until it is over.

Well it seems that Tanguy did not learn this lesson until last weekend’s Pepsi Team Invitational, where the track and field star celebrated his victory prematurely. And as he did this, he began to slowdown, giving University of Washington star, Meron Simon, time to catchup.

While these moments are extremely funny to observe in retrospect, Pepiot’s initial reaction to losing is heartbreaking. He simply cannot believe he allowed that to happen and neither can we. As the announcer stated, “He’ll never make that mistake again.” For his mental state, I hope so.
