Charles Eugster just set a new world record for his age group, which just happens to be in the above-95 range. At the British Masters Athletics meeting in London, he decided to race in the 200m.

And while doing so, he broke the previous record, set on March 2013 by Orville Rogers, by 2.4 seconds. His final time in the 200m was 55.48 seconds – a miraculous feat for a man of his age.

As a person who has trouble walking now, it is great seeing a 95-year-old stay in shape: especially since this breaks the stereotype of being unable to function at such a high age. Let’s just hope that more attempt to complete this feat and prolong their life with athletics.
