Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has explicitly stated he may likely be parting ways with Borussia Dortmund next summer.

The 27-year-old French-born Gabonese forward recently told French radio in an interview that in order to take the next step in his career, he needs to leave the German club next summer.

“If I want to reach the next level, I must leave in the summer,” said Aubameyang. “Real Madrid is still a dream, but there has been too much noise.”

Aubameyang has long said that Real Madrid is his dream club, and even confessed to promising his grandfather he would play for the Spanish squad one day. However, he remains open to other options.

Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal have all been linked to the striker, although none have actually made an offer to Aubameyang yet.

Aubameyang has 20 goals in 22 games for Dortmund this season, and scored 39 times last season; thus, he’s proven himself to be one of the top scorers in the world.

We’ll soon see whom the forward chooses to play for next year.

“I love it at Dortmund, but I can’t say that I’ll stay for two more years, or five or 10,” he said. “It’s possible that a club could reach an agreement with Dortmund in June and I’ll go.

“When you are ambitious and also want to see something else… it’s difficult to talk about. Some players have ambitions, and therefore they leave and want to experience something new, you know.”
