Brock Osweiler Hits Will Fuller Down The Sideline For Long TD In Texans’ 34-24 Win Over Cardinals
The Houston Texans quarterback has connected with all of his top targets: DeAndre Hopkins has two catches and rookies Braxton Miller and Will Fuller have three each.
Late in the second quarter of the team’s 34-24 preseason home win against the Cardinals, Osweiler connected with Fuller for a spectacular 35-yard pass down the right sideline, right over the shoulder of Justin Bethel.
Osweiler did a great job of seeing a blitz coming off the left side of his line and letting go of the ball quickly, while Fuller fiercely battles with Bethel to create enough distance for him to make the catch right in the end zone. Fuller arguable could have been called for offensive pass interference, but he wasn’t.
As of the end of Sunday’s game, Osweiler is 11 of 13 for 146 yards and a touchdown, with both incomplete passes being drops. The Texans next visit Dallas on Thursday for their final preseason game, then host the Chicago Bears on Sept. 11 for their first regular-season game.
The Cardinals next host the Broncos on Thursday for their last preseason game, then host the Patriots on Sept. 11 for their regular-season opener.
Osweiler, 25, was selected by the Broncos as a second-round draft pick in 2012 out of Arizona State. He played three seasons in Denver before signing a four-year, $72 million contract with the Texans on March 9.
