The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday 22-6, but there was no lack of frustration on the sideline for DT Chris Jones, who got into a screaming match on the sideline with defensive line coach Joe Cullen.

The argument took place toward the end of the second quarter. The Chiefs were leading 9-3 at the time. It’s unclear what the argument was about, but Cullen put his hand on Jones, and Jones pulled it off, after which a lot of yelling followed.

Color commentator Trent Green, a former Kansas City player, said Cullen and Jones have worked together for years and have a “great relationship.” The sport’s tense atmosphere at such a critical point in the season likely contributed to the brief confrontation, and it probably wasn’t personally motivated at all.

It’s been five seasons since Cullen was hired in Kansas City, and Jones has been there the whole time.

The interaction seemed to be a one-off, with no further disagreements seen. The Chiefs play the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football this week.
