Emotional Return For Raiders’ Jack Bech Ends In Devastating Fashion

Las Vegas Raiders WR Jack Bech left the Caesars Superdome with a broken forearm after a collision with New Orleans Saints safety Justin Reid.

The promising young star is expected to return this season, according to Ian Rapoport, which is good news for Bech and the team, but the game had a more significant meaning to the receiver, and for the injury to take place during such an emotional return to New Orleans was the last way anyone wanted it to end.

Bech’s brother, Tiger Bech, was killed during the New Orleans Bourbon Street terrorist attack on New Year’s Day 2025. The attack killed 14 people, plus the attacker, who bulldozed through the street with his vehicle in an attempt to kill as many people as possible.

Over 50 other people were injured in the attack, on top of the victims, and Bech’s brother was one of them. Bech was seen kneeling before the game in prayer, along with wearing a shirt that said “LLT” for “Live Like Tiger.”

His pregame cleats were also a tribute to his brother, and earlier in the week he said he wanted to create new memories in New Orleans, as it was a place he only knew for the place that took his brother from the world. The return didn’t go as planned, but the receiver has many more trips to the Superdome in his bright future to do so.

With three receivers already on IR for the Raiders, the depth at the position is now slim. Their fast 3-0 start is the first time they have done that in five years. The team is in a pretty good spot injury-wise at positions that aren’t WR, but look for them to make some moves in the coming weeks to fill the voids until Bech returns from the IR.
