Bulls’ Selection Of Caleb Wilson Adds Athletic & Versatile Wing
The Chicago Bulls selected Caleb Wilson with the fourth overall pick out of North Carolina. He is considered one of the most athletic and versatile wings in this draft class.
Wilson entered the draft as one of the more intriguing young players after a standout season at North Carolina. Despite battling injury, the 6-foot-9 wing offers elite athleticism, defensive versatility and significant offensive upside. He is widely viewed as having one of the highest floors in this draft and is expected to impact both ends of the floor as he begins his career in Chicago.
For Chicago, this move represents another step toward building a young foundation capable of competing in the Eastern Conference. Wilson’s greatest strength is his versatility. Throughout his college career, he guarded positions 1 through 5, protected the rim, and excelled in transition. His combination of length and mobility made him one of the most disruptive defenders in college basketball.
Offensively, Wilson showed flashes of becoming a great player, though his scoring consistency remains a work in progress. Scouts were impressed by his ability to finish around the basket, handle the ball in open space and create opportunities for teammates.
Joining one of the NBA’s historic franchises gives Wilson a platform to develop and showcase his talents on a larger stage. Expectations will be high, but the Bulls are likely to give him room to grow into his role.
As summer league approaches, fans will get their first look at Wilson in a Bulls uniform, while his long-term development remains the priority.
