The Chiefs are coming off an explosive come from behind victory against the Texans Sunday. Down 24-0 early in the second quarter, The Chiefs came back to win 51-31 behind stellar play from quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 321 yards and five touchdowns and 50 rushing yards. Travis Kelce was his top target catching ten passes for 134 yards and three touchdowns.
The Chiefs play the Titans for the first time since losing to them in November, 35-32. Although they fell short, Mahomes was at his best. The second year quarterback threw for 446 yards and three touchdowns. Kelce and wide receiver, Tyreke Hill, combined for 232 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Tennessee was able to handle Lamar Jackson on Saturday limiting him to one touchdown and two interceptions with a 63.2 quarterback rating, but Mahomes is a different animal. In three career playoff games the Texas native has eight touchdown passes and a quarterback rating of 116.4. In 14 regular season games he finished with 26 touchdowns and five interceptions with 4,031 passing yards while battling a knee injury.

The Titans, however, are not an easy team to face. Running back Derrick Henry has been dominant in Tennessee’s two playoff games. The former Alabama running back has been unstoppable, running the ball 64 times for 377 yards and a touchdown. He is also in the midst of the best eight game stretch for a running back in NFL history, according to CBS Sports. Since November 24, Henry has rushed 203 times for 1,273 yards with 11 touchdowns and 6.2 yards per carry. In the November game against Kansas City “Tractorcito” carried the ball 23 times for 188 yards with two touchdowns while averaging a whopping 8.2 yards per carry.
Both teams have exceptional personnel on both sides of the ball and it’s safe to say this game will be a high scoring shootout.
