Jazz Chisholm Jr. was ejected from the New York Yankees’ 6-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night. He then violated MLB policy by posting his criticism online while the game was still happening.
Plate umpire John Bacon ejected Chisholm after arguing a third strike pitch that Chisholm believed to be low. This was Chisholm’s first ejection as a Yankee and the fifth of his career.
“Not even f–ing close!!!!!” Chisholm said on his X account. He deleted the tweet shortly after.
Chisholm posted the tweet three minutes after he was ejected. The MLB’s social media policy prohibits the use of electronic devices during games. The policy also prohibits any content “that questions the impartiality of or otherwise denigrates a Major or Minor League umpire.”

Chisholm believes he didn’t say anything that warranted an ejection.
“I’m a competitor, so when I go out there, and I feel like I’m right, and you’re saying something to me that I think doesn’t make sense, I’m going to get fired up and be upset,” Chisholm said.
This season, Chisholm is batting .169 with six home runs and eleven RBIs. His six home runs are tied for the fourth most in the MLB.
The Yankees, who are first in the AL East, are looking for their fifth straight win. They are currently 12-7.
