New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger is expected to become a free agent this winter, according to a report by ESPN’s Jorge Castillo.
The outfielder currently has a $25 million player option for the 2026 season. However, Bellinger is not expected to stay in the Bronx and could join free agency in the upcoming offseason.
The 30-year-old is set to join four other Yankees in free agency: relievers Devin Williams and Luke Weaver, outfielder Trent Grisham and first baseman Paul Goldschmidt.
The Yankees’ season came to an end on Wednesday after losing Game 4 of the ALDS against the Toronto Blue Jays. It’s now the 16th straight season where New York has failed to win the World Series, having last won in the 2009 campaign.
