WWE Legend Jerry Lawler Suffers Stroke, Cancels Upcoming Events

WWE legend Jerry Lawler suffered a stroke last Friday at his home in Fort Myers, Florida, according to his caregiver, who told Memphis Fox13.

The 75-year-old was taken to the hospital but was released and cleared to return to Memphis on Thursday. The stroke affected his right side and slightly impacted his vision, according to the report.

Lawler canceled several events in the aftermath of the incident. He was expected to appear in Cincinnati on Friday at HorrorHound Weekend, but will now take the entirety of September to recover.

“The King” spoke to Action News 5 on Friday following the stroke.

“The first time I noticed, it was when I had woken up that morning,” he said. “I knew something was bad wrong at the time, but I didn’t feel it happening when it was happening.

“It just happened while I was asleep, and when I woke up, I knew I had to call somebody so they could get there and help me out with the situation.”
