World Series Game Preview: Time, Channel, Betting Odds
With the World Series teeing off Tuesday night at 8:11 p.m. on Fox, between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays, the official odds have been released along with some very interesting props. As usual, I will point out two bets that I think have a great value and that I may throw some cash on myself.
Rays Moneyline (+148)
I was honestly confused when I saw the Dodgers were favored in this game. The pitching matchup is Tyler Glasnow for the Rays and Clayton Kershaw for the Dodgers. Read that last sentence again. Now do it again. By this point, I hope that you realized that you have the chance to bet against Kershaw in the playoffs for positive odds. He is a fantastic pitcher, but we have all seen this movie before and as a matter of fact, he already collapsed once this postseason. I’m not sure the Rays will win this whole series. But I do like this matchup for the Rays.
Same Game Parlay: Glasnow OVER 6.5 K’s (-146)–Rays TO Win Be Over 1.5 Runs (+230) For 5-1 Odds
I tend to ride whichever team that I think is going to win. So far, my formula has been that Glasgow has a great game striking out seven or more Dodgers’ batters while Kershaw sticks to form and collapses. The funny thing is that this could still be a pitching battle – say Kershaw gives up a quick three runs and gets pulled while Glasnow keeps retiring batters, and the Rays win 4-2. Not all that unlikely to me and five to one odds.
As always, if these bets miss and you lost money on it, then it is your fault for listening to me.
