Watch: Nick Saban Rips University Of Alabama Mascot Big Al For Not Wearing Mask In COVID-19 PSA
With the NCAA beginning to allow college football programs to host voluntary, on-campus workouts for the month of June, the University of Alabama and head coach Nick Saban took the opportunity to remind its fans to still maintain proper COVID-19 safety measures.
On Thursday, the school posted a PSA to their Twitter account, which had Saban reminding the school’s mascot, Big Al, to maintain proper safety measures including keeping an appropriate social distance of six-feet and wearing a mask.
Toward the end of the PSA, Saban spoke to those watching, reminding fans of various precautions as a means for fans to see the return of college football in the fall. “All of us want to make sure we play football this fall. To make that happen, we must be sure we stay at home if we have symptoms, wash our hands often and follow all social distancing guidelines,” Saban said. “Please wear a mask anytime you are around other people.”
