Carson Wentz completed 17 of 25 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns with an interception to propel Philadelphia to a 34-24 home victory over the Washington Redskins on Monday night.

Eagles vs. Redskins Week 7 Score

The Eagles (6-1) have thus maintained their lead in the NFC East after five straight wins, while the Redskins (3-3) are third.

Wentz — the 2016 No. 2 overall pick out of North Dakota State — now leads the NFL this season with 17 touchdown passes. Aaron Rodgers sitting out with a broken collarbone has certainly given 24-year-old Wentz an edge.

Nevertheless, Philadelphia’s victory came at a cost: early Tuesday, it was revealed linebacker Jordan Hicks may have suffered a torn Achilles on Monday, and will thus undergo an MRI. Hicks was carted off the field after only the second play of the night.

Meanwhile, left tackle Jason Peters exited with a major knee injury. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Peters may have torn his MCL, and will also have an MRI to confirm.

Earlier this week, Redskins coach Jay Gruden said he is “very upset” that Wentz ended up in the NFC East. He also said Wentz has “progressed at a rate as fast as anybody I’ve seen, really.”

Here are the league’s power rankings after Monday’s game:

The Eagles next host the 0-7 San Francisco 49ers on Sunday and stay at home again in Week 9 to play the Denver Broncos. The Redskins next host the 3-3 Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
