Washington Football Cuts Former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson, Cowboys Say Goodbye To Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

On Wednesday, several teams announced cuts and signings that surprised the NFL community. Yesterday, the Washington Football team announced that they were cutting former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson, 35, who has lost some of his luster over the past few years. The future hall of famer seems to be looking for a new team instead of hanging up his cleats. Currently, rumors are pointing towards New England and Chicago. New England makes sense in the sense that almost every running back in the league would be an upgrade over Sony Michel, along with his power-running style fitting New England’s scheme. And Chicago also makes sense due to their quarterback competition between Nick Foles and Mitchell Trubisky are likely to produce an offense that wants to run more than pass either way.

In more surprising cut, the Cowboys announced they were cutting safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who they signed to a one-year, $3.75 million deal that included a $1.25 million signing bonus. Apparently, this was due purely to in-camp performance with the team indicating that the former Chicago Bear lost his starting spot in practices and did not meet up to expectations. It is unclear whether or not Clinton-Dix will find a home immediately or if he is on his way out of the league. This may open up a spot for former Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas, who was released by the Baltimore Ravens in August and has been linked to the team in the past. There have been no attempt by the Cowboys to sign Thomas yet, according to reports.
