Team USA snowboard halfpipe star Maddie Mastro will be returning to the Olympics during the Beijing Winter Games.
Mastro has a tradition of watching The Office before she has to perform.
“I wake up and I watch ‘The Office’ every morning before I compete,” she said. “It just helps get me in a fun, happy, laughing mindset before I go up and have to be super serious all day long.”
Mastro also has experienced the impact of climate change on her sport.
“I think snowboard halfpipe has definitely experienced and had its challenges with climate change,” she said. “Half pipes are getting fewer and fewer all over the place because it takes so much snow, and that’s been a big challenge is finding half pipes, and building the half pipes, so I’ve seen a big difference in having that effect on my sport.”
