VIDEO: Consulate General Of Japan In L.A. Shouts-Out Japanese Players While Congratulating Dodgers On Their Win

The Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles congratulated the Dodgers on winning the World Series title, while giving a special shout-out to the Japanese players on the team.

This footage shows the Consul General of Japan in Los Angeles, Sone Kenko, wearing a Dodgers jersey while congratulating the team.

“A special shout-out to Japanese players Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Together, we celebrate the victory!” the diplomat said.

This year’s World Series set viewership records in Japan, with Game Two of the series drawing 15.9 million average viewers, according to The Japan Times.

The Los Angeles Dodgers won their eighth World Series title after defeating the New York Yankees in a 7-6 Game 5 victory on Wednesday night.

The Yankees blew a five-run lead at home and could only watch on as Los Angeles celebrated its eighth title victory in front of a sellout Yankee Stadium crowd.

“I think falling short in the World Series will stick with me until I die, probably,” Yankees slugger Aaron Judge told reporters after the game. “I think just like every other loss, you know, those things don’t go away. They’re battle scars along the way. And, you know, hopefully when my career is over, we got a lot a battle scars but a lot of victories along the way too.”
