VIDEO: Conor McGregor Rape Case Sparks Solidarity Demonstration in Dublin
Demonstrators marched in Dublin on Monday, November 25, in solidarity with Nikita Hand after she won a civil rape case against Conor McGregor. On Friday, a jury at Ireland’s High Court found that the mixed martial arts fighter had assaulted Hand in a hotel room in 2018. McGregor was ordered to pay Hand almost €250,000 ($263,000) in damages. Footage from Councillor Ruth Coppinger shows people marching to the Director of Public Prosecutions office, chanting, “DPP, hear us clear, we stand with survivors here” and “We don’t care about your fame when you lie and victim-blame.” The DPP declined to take a criminal case against McGregor.
