Victor Wembanyama’s Friend Found Safe After Being Missing For Several Days

Elijah Hoard, a friend of San Antonio Spurs All-Star Victor Wembanyama, was found in Chicago after he had been missing for several days.

Wembanyama first posted about his friend on March 2. He said that Hoard was supposed to fly back to France from Chicago, but had never boarded his flight. Wembanyama took to social media to thank everyone who helped find Hoard.

“Elijah has been found safe,” Wembanyama said, “Thank you to everyone who shared the information. You all played a part in this.”

Little has been revealed about Hoard at this time. The public has not been informed of why he didn’t get on his flight or where he was found. All that has been reported is that Hoard is safe.

Wembanyama revealed his friend was found safe after the Spurs’ game on March 3 against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Spurs defeated the 76ers 131-91. Devin Vassell and Dylan Harper scored 22 points for the Spurs. The 76ers got strong efforts from Tyrese Maxey and Jabari Walker in the loss. Joel Embiid is currently out with an oblique injury.

Wembanyama scored just 10 points. It’s very likely his friend’s well-being was the main thing on his mind.

Even before his friend went missing, Wembanyama was on a bit of a cold streak. It started on Feb. 25 against the Toronto Raptors, when he scored just 12 points on three of 12 shooting from the field. In the next game, he scored 12 points on three of nine shots from the field against the Brooklyn Nets.

Wembanyama did look to be out of his slump after scoring 25 points against the New York Knicks, but the game against the 76ers sent him back in the wrong direction.

The Spurs’ next game will be on March 4 against the No. 1-seeded Detroit Pistons.
