Van Jefferson Wins Super Bowl, Sprints To Hospital To See Newborn Son
Van Jefferson had an even greater home-field advantage at Super Bowl LVI than did his team, which was playing in its home stadium.
That’s because Jefferson’s wife, Samaria, was pregnant with the couple’s second child, a son, leading up to the big game. She was due officially on February 17, but the child clearly wanted to celebrate with pops as Samaria was seen leaving the stadium in labor on a stretcher.
Jefferson could be seen grabbing his 5-year-old daughter, Bella, and sprinting out of the stadium as soon as the game concluded. Soon thereafter, Jefferson confirmed the birth via an Instagram photo of him holding his child.
Had the Rams had to play the Bengals in another destination besides LA’s SoFi Stadium, who knows how long it would’ve taken him to see his son?
Jefferson tallied just four catches for 23 yards in the game, but the video of him sprinting through the stadium halls will be the evening’s true MVP performance.
