USA Football Coaching Clinics Will Be Hosted By Patrick Mahomes

Last week it was announced that three-time Pro-Bowler Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs will be partnering with USA Football. Mahomes will host three youth football coaching clinics this summer and his foundation will be providing 15 grants to youth football leagues.

Coach of Webb City High School, John Roderique, and Rockwood Summit High School Coach, Mike Bellars, will be in charge of leading the clinic. The responsibility of these coaches will be to mentor other coaches on how to coach youth players based on their age, skill level, etc.

The clinics are free for youth football coaches. The first of the clinics will take place on July 27 in Olathe, Kansas. The second will take place on July 31 in Webb City, Missouri. The third will be on August 7 in Kansas City.

The 15 and Mahomies Foundation mentioned that 15 youth football leagues will receive a $2,000 operating grant. Selection will be determined based on an online application process.

“Smart coaching can make a lasting and positive impact on kids and their sports development, I’m happy to partner with USA Football to support healthy football practices for coaches and youth athletes across the K.C. region,” said Mahomes.

This collaboration with USA Football is one of many efforts being made by Mahomes and his fiancé, Brittany Mathews, to give back to the community. Mahomes recently purchased a minority interest in the Kansas City Royals, while Mathews is a part-owner of FC Kansas City of the NWSL.

The 15 and Mahomies Foundation has also donated thousands of dollars to local initiatives. One of these donations was for the renovation of Martin Luther King Jr. Park, which will provide opportunities to learn about the work of MLK. This project will also provide a new playground.

“Patrick’s commitment to kids through his 15 and the Mahomies Foundation is immense and uncommon. We value Patrick’s friendship and love of the game to deliver best-in-class coach training and grants to help elevate youth football programs throughout Greater Kansas City,” said USA Football CEO Scott Hallenbeck.
