The UEFA Nations League draw was revealed in Lausanne, Switzerland on Wednesday, and England was paired with Spain and Croatia.
Meanwhile, Wales will face Ireland and Denmark in League B. Northern Ireland were grouped with Austria and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Scotland — which has been missing a manager since Gordon Strachan left — were drawn in League C with Albania and Israel.
The first group games will be held in September this year, with the finals scheduled for June 2019.
