Tyreek Hill’s Injury Woes Continue: Undergoes Surgery On Left Wrist After Disappointing Season

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel announced Tuesday that wide receiver Tyreek Hill underwent surgery to repair a ligament injury in his left wrist.

McDaniel assured that Hill did not suffer a broken wrist and said that he is on track to begin catching passes again this summer as training camp begins.

Hill’s production dipped in 2024 after consecutive 1,700-yard seasons for the Dolphins, recording 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns.

It was his lowest yardage output since 2019 with the Kansas City Chiefs, when he was sidelined for four games, and his touchdown total was a career low.

For the first time in his career, Hill did not make the Pro Bowl and also missed the playoffs, as Miami ended the season with an 8-9 record.

A major factor in the Dolphins’ struggles and Hill’s reduced numbers was starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missing six games with an injury, which led to backups Tyler Huntley, Skylar Thompson and Tim Boyle taking snaps.

At the end of the season, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, disclosed that the wide receiver had broken his wrist during a preseason scrimmage.

Rosenhaus revealed that doctors informed Hill he required season-ending surgery, but he opted to play instead.

A tough season for both Hill and the Dolphins wrapped up with a Week 18 loss to the New York Jets, officially knocking them out of playoff contention.

Following Miami’s final game of the season, Hill alluded to a potential departure in 2025, telling reporters: “I’m out, bruh. It was great playing here but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for my career.”

Rosenhaus later confirmed that Hill had a meeting with the team and resolved the situation, saying, “I think at the end of the day, he’s committed to this Dolphins football team.”

Hill has also faced numerous setbacks in his personal life, including a fire set at his Miami mansion in January 2024.
