Two Ohio State Football Players Amir Riep & Jahsen Wint Charged With Rape, Kidnapping

Two Ohio State football players face charges of rape and kidnapping stemming from an incident that occurred last week.

Amir Riep and Jahsen Wint, both 21, were charged with first-degree felonies in Franklin County, Ohio Municipal Court.

“We are aware that two of our students have been arrested and criminally charged,” Ohio State spokesman Ben Johnson said. “They have been suspended from all activities involving the football program. We will share more information when available.”

A woman told police that she and Riep were at his apartment, which he shares with Wint, on Feb. 4. They began to engage in consensual sex before the woman stopped and said she did not wish to continue.

Wint then entered the room and, after asking if he could join, allegedly grabbed the woman by her neck and raped her. Riep held her down with his body while Wint forced oral sex. The woman pushed Wint away, but he again forced her to have oral sex. All of this is according to the affidavit from the woman involved.

After the incident, it is alleged that Riep told the woman she needed to say what happened was consensual on video and that she needed to shower before driving her back home. This is all also according to her affidavit.

Riep, a senior cornerback from Cincinnati, has played in 37 games for the Buckeyes. Wint, a senior safety from Brooklyn, New York, has played in 35 games.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning in Franklin County Municipal Court.
