Two More Titans Players Test Positive, Week Five Agianst Bills In Jeopardy

The Tennessee Titans were victims of the first COVID-19 outbreak in the NFL season with 12 players and staff testing positive last week. This caused their week four matchup against the Pittsburgh Steeler to be postponed until Oct 25. With the outbreak seemingly contained coach Mike Vrabel hoped to get his team back into the practice facility this Wednesday, but now with two more players testing positive this week that seems impossible. This puts the Titans COVID 19 list to eight players last week, one this week and 11 overall this season – defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson, linebacker Kamalei Correa, cornerback Kristian Fulton, wide receiver Adam Humphries, defensive lineman DaQuan Jones, long-snapper Beau Brinkley, wide receiver Cameron Batson, tight end Tommy Hudson, fullback Khari Blasingame and cornerback Greg Mabin – have been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The Titans week five matchup with the Buffalo Bills is now in serious jeopardy. If this trend continues, either for the TItans or another team that has an outbreak of COVID-19, then this could seriously mess up the NFL’s schedule and create some competitive disadvantages for the teams who aren’t able to play a full season. Or even a more pessimistic view is having serious doubts about whether or not the NFL will be capable of getting through an entire season and may have to shut down for several weeks. There has been a growing sentiment that the NFL will push on no matter what with putting on games, but that will be hard to do if there are no players left to play in them.
