Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are making solid progress on a contract extension to keep the superstar quarterback in a Buccaneers uniform.
Last March, Brady signed a two-year contract to join Tampa Bay, and this time he could be signing a contract extension. Rumors about a possible extension surfaced, well before the 2020 NFL season started. These rumors were further fueled by the team who showed interest in retaining the services of the 43-year-old.
Now that the 43-year-old led Tampa Bay to a Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs last season, it is without a doubt that the quarterback will stay with the team. Following the team’s Super Bowl victory, the seven-time champion said that he will continue to play, and will be back next season. So far, both Brady and Tampa are making good progress on an extension that will fit within the team’s salary cap.
Furthermore, the quarterback has not shown any signs of decline in his production. The quarterback has continued to produce above-average numbers despite his age. Last season, Brady completed 65.7 percent of his pass attempts for 4,633 passing yards, 40 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He will look to continue his elite play in 2021.
