Tom Brady Rookie Card Sells For Record Breaking $1.32 Million

Just like the real Tom Brady himself, a Brady football card is breaking records as well. A rookie card of the seven-time Super Bowl winner just broke the record for the highest price paid for a football card.

The rookie card is an autographed 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket card. The card’s signature was graded an eight out of 10, meaning that the signature is in great condition.

The card was purchased by James Park, a known card collector and Brady fan. Park purchased the card for a staggering $1.32 million. The price is believed to be the highest price ever paid for a football card. The card sold for $500,000 more than the previous record holder. Recently, a Patrick Mahomes football card sold for $861,000. The price of football cards is currently on the rise.

Park spoke to ESPN after the auction. “I lived in Boston for 10 years, so I’ve been a huge Brady fan, Patriots fan. Now you have to separate the two, but still a Patriots fan and still a fan of Brady’s,” the collector said. “Everyone’s talked about this, but what he’s accomplished in his whole career and then most recently, it’s superhuman. That’s really what sparked my interest in the card.”
