Todd Marinovich Arrested For Drugs, Found Naked In Someone’s Yard

Todd Marinovich, a former USC Trojan and Oakland Raiders quarterback is facing charges after he was found naked with meth and marijuana in someone’s back yard in Irvine, California, Friday night.

Marinovich, 47, was charged with trespassing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police were called to the home at 9:00 p.m. PST Friday night after someone saw him in the backyard with no clothes on carrying a brown paper bag.

This isn’t the first time Marinovich has been arrested for drug possession. He has been arrested for possession of cocaine in 1990 and was subsequently dropped from the Raiders’ roster after two seasons for violation of the drug abuse policy. He was arrested in 1997 for growing marijuana and in 2000 for suspicion of heroine possession.

He was arrested in 2005 for drug possession and in 2007 for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a needle and resisting arrest.

After Marinovich was dropped from the Raiders he spent some time in Canada playing in the CFL, but it didn’t last long. In 1993 he spent one year with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on their practice roster and in 1999 he played one year with the BC Lions. The Lions wanted to extend his contract to the next year but he realized he needed help with his drug addiction. He went back to California in 2000 and played for the Los Angeles Avengers in the arena football league.

Whatever there was of the ‘Robo QB’ is certainly no longer as he continues to struggle with substance abuse. He has been in and out of rehab facilities since 1991.
