Texans’ Kenny Stills Has Charges Dropped After Protest
Kenny Stills had his felony charges dropped on Friday after participating in a protest on Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron‘s lawn, to get him to charge the officers who shot Breonna Taylor after barging into her home on a no-knock warrant in March.
Stills was one of 87 protesters, who were all charged with intimidating a participant in the legal process, the participant being Cameron. This was the felony charged to Stills along with misdemeanors like criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.
Cameron is a Republican and Kentucky’s first black attorney general. He had asked to protesters to leave. And when they refused, officers stepped in, zip-tying each protester’s hands and took them to jail where they were released on Wednesday.
Stills, who is going into his eighth season in the NFL (second with the Texans), took to instagram after his release from jail to continue his protest. The wide receiver posted his mug shot which shows him wearing a shirt that says “Breonna Taylor’s killers are still police.”

“They need to arrest the cops and convict the cops that killed Breonna Taylor,” Stills said on an instagram live stream. “Arresting us for sitting on grass but you don’t want to arrest the cops?”
Stills has been an advocate for social justice for a while now. He followed Colin Kaepernick by kneeling for the National Anthem while playing for the Miami Dolphins in 2016. Stills looks to get back on track this season statistically after scoring four touchdowns in a career-low 13 games.
