After missing 58 games this season, Golden State Warriors’ point guard Stephen Curry returns to the court March 5 against the Toronto Raptors.
The 31-year-old guard missed four months of the season due to a hand injury on October 30. He suffered a fractured left hand after Phoenix Suns center Aaron Baynes fell on Curry’s hand during a collision under the basket. Curry underwent two surgeries to repair the fracture. The first was in November and the second was in December when pins were removed from his hand.

Curry was supposed to return on Sunday against the Washington Wizards, but that was pushed back because coach Steve Kerr and the Warriors’ medical staff wanted him to get more 5-on-5 scrimmage time. On Monday, the six-time All-Star became the most accomplished player in NBA history to participate in a G League workout, as he practiced with the Santa Cruz Warriors and got in a scrimmage.

In Curry’s return on Thursday, he will be entering an almost new team. Eric Paschall, Jordan Poole and Damion Lee are the only Warriors who saw the court alongside Curry back in October. Warriors forward Draymond Green is questionable against the Raptors because of a knee injury and Curry’s splash brother Klay Thompson is still out for the rest of the season from an ACL injury in the NBA finals last year.
However, Coach Kerr is excited about Curry playing with the 2014 number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins who joined the Warriors from the trade with D’Angelo Russell.
Kerr told 95.7 The Game’s Damon, Ratto & Kolsky on Wednesday, “Well, I think what we’ve already seen is what a good passer Andrew is, He had 10 assists [against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday] and, particularly when he gets a head of steam downhill on those high screens and drives down the lane, he’s so tall he sees over the top of the defense. So he’s been picking teams apart, and when you think about having Steph Curry on the other end of those passes, it’s pretty exciting.
The Golden State Warriors are at the bottom of the Western Conference with a 14-48 and are 2-8 in their last ten games.
