St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher announced that wide receiver Stedman Bailey’s health was improving after he took two gunshot wounds to the head. Fisher also stated, however, that he wasn’t sure if Bailey would be able to return to play because his injuries are career-threatening. “There’s a chance he doesn’t play [again],” Fisher said. “However, based on what he’s done over the last 10 days, he may surprise everybody.”
The WR was a third-round pick for the Rams in the 2013 NFL Draft. He has caught 59 passes for 843 yards in 38 career games, including eight starts. He was injured during a shooting near his home in Miami Gardens, Fla., on Nov. 24.
Bailey, 25, was also taken off the suspended list on Monday from a four-game ban after he violated the league’s substance abuse policy. He is expected to be placed on the non-football injury list, according to Fisher.
