As basketball slowly devolves into soccer-level of flopping, Sir’Dominic Pointer of St. John’s provided one of the funniest/saddest moments of the basketball year. During last night’s rout of St. John’s by Butler, Roosevelt Jones slightly nudged Pointer after his teammate scored a basket: the reaction from Sir’Dominic makes it look like a middle linebacker just ran threw him, as he throws his hands in the air and nearly completes a 360° turn.
You truly cannot make this stuff up. Luckily, this was seen for the disgrace it was, but with the amount of flops utilized in the sport, they could really decide a game in bigger situations — just look at the Tyson Chandler incident. It may be fun to watch these players look stupid in these moments, yet it is important to begin punishing flops more severely.
