Robbie Maddison: How I Come Up With My Trick Ideas by uSports
Motorcycling daredevil Robbie Maddison knows a little thing or two about making huge jumps. He’s even got a world record to prove it. But how does he do it? Maddison chatted with uSports to give some insight on his secrets to landing the big tricks.
“First and foremost, you’ve got to visually see it in your head,” Maddison said. “If there’s any question or any uncertainty, it’ll definitely show in your landing or something’s bound to go wrong if you can’t visually see it.” This, he point out, is one of the most important steps to making a jump, as well as taking into account the factors of weather and bike setup.
“You need to be at one with your equipment and know every nut and bolt is tight,” Maddison also explains, to make sure his huge jumps, such as the Olympic ski hill in the upcoming On Any Sunday: The Next Chapter, go off without a hitch.

Maddison concludes that “having that relationship, knowing everything is checked off and where it needs to be and you’re fit and healthy… that’s a recipe I’m always looking for for a safe jump.”
