As of Wednesday morning (Day 12) of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Team USA continues to dominate the medals race by a comfortable lead, counting 84 pieces of hardware (28 of each gold, silver and bronze).

China follows as the runner up with 51 medals (17 gold), and Great Britain is third with 50 medals (19 gold).

Rounding out the top 10 are Russia (38), France (29), Japan (29), Germany (26), Australia (24), Italy (23), and the Netherlands (14).
