Multiple Houston players, including linebacker Christian Harris, confronted Smith-Njigba and pushed him into the bench before teammates and officials rushed in. That’s when Jones stepped between the players, spreading his arms to separate them and calm the situation. His quick reaction prevented the altercation from escalating any further.

Stingley was flagged for unnecessary roughness, while Smith-Njigba avoided a second penalty after receiving an earlier unsportsmanlike conduct flag in the first half.
