There has been much debate as of late regarding whether or not Boston Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval returned overweight this spring season. The answer became quite clear on Saturday.

During Sandoval’s first at-bat of the Red Sox’s 8-4 victory over the Blue Jays in Toronto, the 29-year-old Venezuelan swung and missed an R.A. Dickey knuckleball, causing his belt to unbuckle. The at-bat ended in a strikeout.
It didn’t get any better for Sandoval as an infielder, since he committed a throwing error in the second inning. After both this incident, which re-raises more concerns about his weight, and after losing the starting third baseman job to Travis Shaw, Sandoval undoubtedly has a few problems to worry about.
In January, Red Sox manager John Farrell told reporters that Sandoval had lost more than 20 pounds during the offseason.

He ended up going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.
