In the last matchup between these teams, the Raptors (58-22, first in Eastern Conference) won 121-119 in overtime thanks to 42 points from DeMar DeRozan, who landed a vicious dunk when regulation time ended. Both Toronto and Detroit have two-regular-season games remaining, including Monday’s matchup.

The Pistons (38-42) are ninth in the East and their playoff contention chances seem to be practically gone following their loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. This loss — which snapped a five-game win streak — essentially helped the Milwaukee Bucks clinch a playoff spot.

On Sunday, Toronto defeated the Orlando Magic 112-101, and rookie Raptors forward OG Anunoby scored a career-high 21 points in 34 minutes. Anunoby was also 5-for-8 on three-pointers and had eight rebounds.
As far as injuries go, Toronto’s Lucas Nogueira exited Sunday’s game with a sore hamstring and remained sidelined for the rest of the night. Fred VanVleet sat out with back tightness. Norman Powell suffered a sprained ankle, but returned shortly after sitting out. Their availabilities against Detroit are all unknown.
On the Pistons side, Jon Leuer (left ankle surgery), Blake Griffin (bone bruise, right ankle) and Reggie Bullock (left knee swelling) are out.
