Entering Friday, Norway leads the total medal count with 19 (6 gold), although second-place Germany (15 medals) leads in gold hardware with 9. Team USA is still fifth with 8 medals (5 gold).

Among the big victories for The U.S. on Friday was the men’s hockey team’s 2-1 win over Slovakia. Twenty-one-year-old Harvard center-forward Ryan Donato scored both goals.
