Pro Bowl WR A.J. Green Signs One-Year Deal With Arizona Cardinals

After a decade, A.J. Green, 33, will be leaving the Cincinnati Bengals after signing a deal to join the Arizona Cardinals.

Green was drafted by the Bengals with the fourth pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Green was elected to the Pro Bowl, and from then on, he continued to grow as a star. Green continued to remain one of the most productive players on the Bengals and was rewarded with a total of seven Pro Bowl selections. While Green played well, the team was unable to advance beyond the wild card. The receiver’s final three years with the Bengals were marred with injuries that limited his production.

In the 2020 season, the Pro Bowler recorded career lows in receiving yards with 523, catching just 47 passes for two touchdowns. However, the career lows have not deterred Green from trying to get back to his elite form. That was a reason why he joined the Cardinals. The receiver still believes that he has a lot to prove and that he can produce solid numbers, especially with quarterback Kyler Murray under center.

Green chose to sign a one-year contract worth $8 million to join Arizona. For the Pro Bowler, it is a fresh new start, and he is ready to prove himself. “You look around the league at Tom Brady and all these other guys that have been in these same places for years, and you saw what Tom Brady did last year,” said Green. “I think it’s good… I feel like I have a lot left in the tank and, I still feel young and, the legs are young.”
