Former Houston Texans wide receiver Will Fuller, 26, will be joining the Miami Dolphins. Fuller agreed to a one-year, $10.6 million deal to play for Miami. The deal includes a signing bonus of $9.6 million, a base salary of $990,000, and incentives that go up to $3 million.
Unfortunately for Miami, Fuller will be unable to play in the team’s season opener. The wide receiver will have to serve the remaining game of his six-game suspension for a performance-enhancing drug violation.
The addition of Fuller to the team brings more depth to the Dolphins’ wide receiver core. Last season, the 26-year-old wideout was on pace to have 1,000-plus receiving yards with Houston. In 11 games, the receiver had 879 receiving yards, eight touchdowns and 53 receptions. Fuller missed the final five games of the 2020 season due to the suspension.
Nevertheless, the numbers that the 26-year-old put up before his suspension are a career-high for him. Furthermore, the numbers are an indication of how promising he is as a player. If Fuller is able to stay healthy and continue his progression, he could breakout with the Dolphins. Should that happen, the team will look to sign Fuller to a long-term deal. Right now, he is simply betting on himself.

Fuller was drafted by the Texans in the first round as the 21st pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. In five seasons with Houston, Fuller has 209 receptions, 3,110 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns. It should be noted that the 26-year-old has not played a full season. Injuries have been a major problem for the talented speedster. The most games he has played in a season was 14 during his rookie campaign.
