Bobby Doerr (Nov. 13, 2017, age 99)
Former Hall of Fame Boston Red Sox second baseman Bobby Doerr died at age 99.
Nicknamed the “Silent Captain” by his friend Ted Williams, Doerr helped lead the Red Sox to the World Series in 1946 and was also the team’s coach for two years in the 1960s.
