Roy Halladay (Nov. 7, 2017, age 40)
Former Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Roy Halladay died Nov. 7 after a plane he was in crashed into the Gulf of Mexico near Holiday, Florida. He was 40.
The right-handed ace — nicknamed “Doc” — was just one of six MLB pitchers to win the Cy Young Award in both the AL and NL. He retired in 2013 after a 16-year career.
