Penn State’s Coach James Franklin Gives Walk-On Von Walker Scholarship In Heartwarming Video

In one of the more heartwarming videos you will see today, PSU’s Coach James Franklin gives a walk-on athlete a scholarship. Every year, each team is able to dole out a few scholarships and most of them go out to the star athletes.

However, coaches save some of them for walk-on guys, who earn it through their tenacity, dedication and will power. And this was what walk-on Von Walker did: he earned his scholarship by working his butt off for James Franklin and Bill O’Brien.

Originally a running back, he saw time as a freshman on special teams, but, during his sophomore campaign, he moved over to linebacker, garnering 12 tackles and one tackle for a loss in 2014.
