Payton Pritchard Named 2024-25 NBA Sixth Man Of The Year

Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard has been named the 2024-25 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, receiving the John Havlicek Trophy.

For the first time in his career, Pritchard has been named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year, making him the fourth player in Celtics history to receive the accolade, alongside Kevin McHale (1983-84, 1984-85), Bill Walton (1985-86), and Malcolm Brogdon (2022-23).

Currently in his fifth season, Pritchard has put up career highs with averages of 14.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 28.4 minutes over 80 games, including three starts. He’s also shot at a career-high 47.2% from the field and 40.7% from deep, leading the league with 1,079 points off the bench.

Ranking fifth in the NBA, Pritchard made a career-high 255 threes—just one shy of the franchise record. Of those, 246 came off the bench—setting a new NBA record for most threes made by a reserve in a single season.
