The Kansas City Chiefs are on a roll this season. They currently have the league’s best record with 11 wins and just one loss.
In their Sunday matchup against the Denver Broncos, they showed up and took care of business with a 22-16 win. Cheif’s star quarterback Patrick Mahomes helped lead the offense as he threw for 25 passes out of 40, 318 yards, and one touchdown.
Mahomes explained in the post-game interview said, “the defense stepped up today and kept us in the game whenever we were having lows.” The defense did play a role as the Chiefs were able to hold the Broncos to only 152 passing yards and 179 rushing yards. Their defense also forced Denver quarterback Drew Lock to throw two interceptions in the game. Kansas held Denver scoreless in the fourth as they were able to secure their win.
“Look how we played the last few games, we won every single way possible it seems like,” Mahomes said. “In this league, you have to find a way, not everything is going to be easy, We’re not going to get to throw 70-yard touchdowns to Tyreek [Hill] every single game.”
