The Kansas City Chiefs’ 24-year-old quarterback Patrick Mahomes celebrated his Super Bowl victory and Super Bowl MVP honors at Disney World on Monday morning. He was accompanied by his family and his girlfriend Brittany Matthews. The couple was able to attend multiple attractions and the afternoon parade. This was a dream come true for Mahomes. When he was a 17-year-old high school senior, Mahomes posted a tweet, “I bet it feels amazing to be the quarterback who says ‘I’m going to Disney World’ after winning the Super Bowl.”
Mahomes stated, “To actually be in this moment, being at Disney World with the Chiefs kingdom behind me is a surreal feeling that I couldn’t actually imagine at that age.” It was definitely a childhood dream come true.
Even though it wasn’t his best game of his short three-year career, Mahomes was able to achieve his dream by throwing 26 for 42, 286 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Mahomes also rushed for 29 yards with a touchdown on his feet. With this performance, he becomes the youngest quarterback Super Bowl MVP. Mahomes also accomplished to be the second youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl behind Ben Roethlisburger, the third African American quarterback to win a Super Bowl (Doug Williams 1988 and Russel Wilson 2014).

After throwing two interceptions, Mahomes was able to kick it back into gear late in the fourth quarter after being down ten points and secure a lead with touchdown pass to Travis Kelce. This was the Chiefs’ third comeback postseason win, and the first team to do so. With collection of awards with in Mahomes’ brief three years in the NFL, what is next for the young rising star?
“I just want to keep winning championships. I just want to keep being with the guys around me,” Mahomes said.
Mahomes also has goals to be awarded the Walter Payton NFL Player of the Year Award some time in his career.
