Olympic weightlifer Holley Mangold has always been known for her larger-than-life personality. If you take the time to just Google her name — besides her athletic accomplishments — you will find evidence to support that she has an insatiable personality.
Well, recently she decided to take to Instagram to comment on and mock the latest fitness fad: the box jump. Instead of jumping, she posted a video of herself sitting on a chair and then diving head first onto the pads. It is simply hilarious.
The box jump post has become a recent fad for athletes: with J.J. Watt showing off his successful and failed attempts at a 61-inch jump — which he also used to promote his deal with Reebok — and even Baylor’s Shawn Oakman doing a 40-inch jump with 70-pound dumbbells.
Holley, who is the sister of the New York Jets’ James Mangold, went to 2012 U.S. Olympic games, where she placed tenth in her weightlifting division. She is currently training for the 2016 games and is putting up some serious numbers. Just today she posted a video of her power cleaning 140 kg, which is roughly a bit over 308 pounds. Her personal best is 255 kilos or roughly 562.2 pounds.
