Not Satisfied With $94 Million Deal, Raiders’ Maxx Crosby Gets $7 Million Raise

The Raiders’ Maxx Crosby’s contract was bumped up by $6 million for the 2024-2025 season and $1.2 million for 2025-2026. His contract length remained constant, as he has three seasons remaining on a four-year deal. This raise reworked a contract that Crosby signed in March 2022, totaling $94 million.

The Raiders awarded Crosby a raise because he’s proven to be a pivotal piece to the team. Crosby is a star defensive end and three-time pro bowler who recorded a career-high 14.5 sacks last season, earning him consideration for Defensive Player of the Year. 2023 was the third year that Crosby finished with double digits in the sacks column, as he recorded 12.5 in 2022 and 10 in 2019.

The past two seasons saw the Raiders defensive end record 45 tackles for loss. “I pour my heart and soul into this,” he said. “I want to be the best leader and teammate I can be on a daily basis. Being a Raider is special to me.”

It probably didn’t hurt that also supported coach Antonio Pierce, who the Raiders hired in January.

Before the raise, Crosby was the ninth highest-paid edge rusher in the NFL with a $23.5 million salary, just behind Green Bay’s Rashan Gary. His recent raise boosts Crosby to the fifth spot, and his average salary of $28.3 million will propel him to second place, behind Nick Bosa, who’s currently the highest paid with a salary of $34 million.

Pierce commented on Crosby for his work ethic. “Every day, he shows up ready to work,” he said. “When you got those guys in the building, you’ve got a good culture and a good place.”

Crosby is also an inspiration to the public – he publicly disclosed his journey from rehab to the Pro Bowl in 2021.

In March, the Raiders signed defensive tackle Christian Wilkins to a $110 million deal.
