With the longest putt of his career, Nick Taylor becomes the first Canadian to win the country’s national title since 1954. After the 72-yard putt to win RBC Canadian Open, fellow Canadian golfer Adam Hadwin was not recognized by security and was tackled as Taylor and his caddie celebrated his victory.
Hadwin finished tied for 12th at the end of the tournament at 11-under following his final round 68.
This crazy ending on Sunday was Taylor beating Tommy Fleetwood, a golfer from the United Kingdom, in a four-hole playoff in the PGA Tour.
Here is another angle showing the tackle from security, not knowing Hadwin was a fellow golfer, not a fan, thanks to Lou Stagner of Golf Stat Pro.

Both Taylor and Fleetwood were set at 17-under for the tournament after their final round on Sunday, forcing a playoff. No one expected three more holes to follow, as both golfers returned to the 18th tee box to tee off.
Walking up to the 18th green, both of them had a shot at birdie. The hit forced another trip back to 18 and led to hole nine, as both parred on this trip. With a tough par three look on hole nine, again, both golfers hit par.
Taylor was on the green for a chance at eagle on the fourth playoff hole, but he was 72 yards away, making his chances of sinking the putt slim to none. Miracles do happen, however, as the Canadian golfer beat the odds with his victory over Fleetwood.
“Gutted for Tommy but what a way to win your national open! Mad Scenes! Praying for Adam Hadwin, what a tackle,” British golfer Tyrrell Hatton, who finished at 16-under for third place just behind Taylor and Fleetwood, tweeted Sunday.
