NFL To Pledge $250 Million To Combat Systemic Racism

The National Football League is the biggest professional sports league in the United States in terms of popularity, and during nationwide protests, numerous NFL players have been seen participating in these protests, teams have issued statements and taken part in talking about racial injustice.

On Thursday, it was announced that the NFL will be donating $250 million over the course of the next ten years to combat systemic racism. 

In a statement issued by the league, they said that the league will work in conjunction with the players to help create change. “The NFL and our clubs will continue to work collaboratively with NFL players to support programs to address criminal justice reform, police reforms, and economic and educational advancement,” the statement read. “In addition to the financial commitment, we will continue to leverage the NFL Network and all of our media properties to place an increased emphasis on raising awareness and promoting education of social justice issues to our fans and help foster unity.”
